Our students are entering an economy that demands a better educated workforce than ever before. In today’s global economy, jobs require more complex knowledge and skills than at any point in history. High quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs help all students succeed in this new economy, regardless of what path they pursue following high school.
Our mission is to provide access for all students to obtain a high quality career and a technical education certification that will prepare for high-skill, high-demand jobs in a changing global economy. We achieve this by providing programs that integrate rigorous academic content into technical subject matter, ensuring that our students will be career and/or college ready.
What is Jump Start?
Jump Start is Louisiana’s innovative CTE program. Jump Start prepares students to lead productive adult lives, capable of continuing their education after high school while earning certifications in high-wage career sectors.
Students pursuing a Jump Start TOPS Tech Diploma are required to attain Industry Based Credentials (IBCs) to graduate.
