Principal's Message
-
I hope that everyone has had a restful and peaceful spring break. As I was talking to a colleague during the break, we both realized that there are only seven weeks remaining until the 2023-2024 school year comes to an end. In some cultures, the number seven is considered a lucky number, and one that is associated with creativity and intuition. I may be biased, but I do believe that Bonnabel students are quite creative as evidenced by the multiple invites that our Bruin Band receives to play at events around the city as well as the beautiful student art exhibit recently on display in the New Orleans Audubon Zoo. We will see their creative sides in only a matter of days at prom as they arrive glamorous and dashing for the roaring 20s Great Gatsby themed night.
There will be a flurry of activities as the final nine weeks work comes to an end. All of our students are in the final stretch of preparing for LEAP 2025 which will begin April 17th. Make-up Seat Time will come to an end on April 15th. Our FAFSA Day for parents/guardians of the class of 2024 will be held on April 17th. Seniors have met with their counselor to review transcripts and graduation requirements and are completing last tasks for graduation on May 18th. Just know that the countdown will be fast and furious, but filled with Big Bruin Energy!
*If you have not yet done so, please check out the Bonnabel High School School Based Health Center. Bonnabel School Based Health Center is a comprehensive healthcare clinic that is housed within our school and provides students with services such as medical and behavioral health services. A key benefit of the SBHC is that it keeps students in school and parents at work and reduces emergency room visits. There are no out-of-pocket costs for any student, insured or uninsured.
In order for a student to receive services, an electronic consent must be fully completed by a parent/guardian or a paper consent must be printed, completed, and returned to the school office or the Bonnabel SBHC.
Visit https://www.jpschools.org/domain/1247 to learn more about service offered through the Bonnabel School Based Health Center and to have access to electronic and paper copies of consents. You can also scan the following QR code for more information and/or the paper copies of the consent.
