K-8 Schools in Jefferson Parish

2024: The Future Our Kids Deserve provides our district with the guide we will use to provide our students with the education they deserve. We have set ambitious goals for positive student outcomes and drafted a framework to get us there. To achieve our goals, we must prioritize access, equity, and opportunity for our students and families.

As part of the plan, we committed to expanding the PK-8 model of school configuration. More of our students will be able to stay in same school from the time they enter school through their 8th grade year. Presently, our K-8 schools have higher attendance rates and school performance scores than our traditional 6-8 middle schools. We also believe this will allow us to better serve families – many families currently leave our system after the 5th grade year.
