John Ehret High Athletic Director Sheena Smith Named “Coach & A.D.” 40 Under 40
John Ehret High Athletic Director Sheena Smith has been recognized among the sports industry’s next generation of leaders. Coach and A.D. named Smith to its Sports 40 Under 40 Class of 2019.
“Congratulations to Sheena on this remarkable honor that places her among leaders in athletics across the nation,” said JP Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley. “Not only does her work further the athletic program at John Ehret High, but she creates opportunities for countless students to find their passion in life and become successful well beyond the playing field.”
Smith has been part of John Ehret High since she started as a teacher and head softball coach in 2006. She was named athletic director in 2012. She also currently teaches and coaches softball. She says the students she works with every day bring out her best.
“It feels great to be recognized on a national level,” said Smith. “I know the work the student-athletes do and the effort our coaches put into coaching and teaching, so it is nice to be recognized as one of the leaders of that effort to make our students and community better.”
The Sports 40 Under 40 Awards honor 40 outstanding individuals making their marks in the athletic industry. Honorees come from all segments of the industry – men and women who are demonstrating involvement, innovation, and commitment.
These 40 young professionals represent the best in the industry. The Sports 40 Under 40 Class of 2019 was honored at the National High School Athletic Coaches Association National Convention, and is recognized in the July/August 2019 issue of Coach and Athletic Director.
