First Day of School in Jefferson Parish is August 8
The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 is Thursday, August 8 in Jefferson Parish Schools. Students in kindergarten and pre-K start August 15 or 16. That date varies by school.

JP Schools is currently operating a Compliance Office Call Center to help answer parent questions. The call center will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 504-365-5312 until Friday, August 2.
New student registration is currently taking place in JP Schools. Students can be registered weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school they will attend. Registration will not take place on the first day of school, August 8.
